About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Orthoptist to join our team as an Ophthalmic Specialist Clinician. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to carry out specialist Orthoptic and Medical Retina Clinics.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing timely paediatric and adult Orthoptic Services at Addenbrooke's NHS Trust and off-site Community Services, including specialist Orthoptic Services. They will also have an extended role in the Medical Retina Clinic, performing intravitreal injections on patients with age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy in a Consultant-led Clinic.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality Orthoptic Services to patients, including specialist services in Medical Retina.
  • Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Develop practice to ensure that care is delivered in accordance with best practices and evidence-based guidelines.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a Diploma or Degree level qualification in Orthoptics, be state registered with the HCPC, and have evidence of ongoing commitment to Continuous Professional Development. You should also have good level clinical experience within Ophthalmology/Orthoptic teams and experience working under own initiative.
