Clinical Specialist in Medical Microbiology

Job Summary:

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5/ST6+)/Senior (post CCT) in Infection to join its team.

The successful candidate will work predominantly in Medical Microbiology, with duties including authorizing laboratory reports, dealing with telephone enquiries from clinicians, and participating in infection rounds.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Authorization of laboratory reports
  • Telephone enquiries from clinicians
  • Participation in infection rounds

About the Role:

The post holder may have the opportunity to work within the Infectious Diseases team, providing direct care for adult inpatients with complex infections and consulting services to review patients under other teams.

The successful candidate will be expected to cover the service with other registrars in infectious diseases and may participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota in these departments.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council
