About the Role
The Office for Nuclear Regulation is seeking a Cyber Security and Information Assurance Risk Specialist to join its team of regulatory experts. This role will play a key part in ensuring that duty holders across the civil nuclear industry manage cyber security and information risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing and evaluating cyber security arrangements to provide confidence that risks are being adequately managed.
- Undertaking regulatory inspections with duty holders to ensure effective implementation of technical cyber security controls.
- Conducting inspections of facilities across the nuclear supply chain to identify and mitigate information security risks.
- Contributing to the development of regulatory policy and influencing good practice nationally and internationally.
- Liaising with other regulators and government agencies to coordinate sector-wide responses to high-profile cyber security events.
Person Specification
We are looking for an individual with a relevant qualification, such as an NCSC certified degree or Level 6 qualification in a cyber security related discipline. Full Professional Membership and/or Chartership of an appropriate professional body is also required.
Candidates should have a breadth and depth of expertise in technical areas, including cyber defence, detection, response, and recovery, as well as a firm understanding of personnel/procedural areas related to information risk management.
Strong communication and influencing skills are essential, along with the ability to present complex technical matters to non-experts.
A full driving licence and National Security Vetting clearance at SC level are also required.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £66,622 per annum, plus a contribution of £19,300 towards membership of the Civil Service pension scheme.
