Job Summary
The Office for Nuclear Regulation is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Security Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our regulatory body, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of civil nuclear materials and sensitive nuclear information in the United Kingdom.
About the Role
As a Nuclear Security Inspector, you will work closely with dutyholders to assess and mitigate security risks, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. You will also engage with senior stakeholders across the nuclear industry to identify trends and intelligence of operational significance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct security assessments and inspections to ensure dutyholders are managing security risks effectively.
- Develop and implement security plans and arrangements to mitigate risks.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to identify and address security concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices.
Requirements
- A good honours degree in a security-related subject or equivalent experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution or ability to demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
- Significant experience as a protective security practitioner, with a good knowledge of security risk management.
