About the Role

We are seeking an experienced tutor to join our team at The Rycotewood Furniture Centre, a part of Activate Learning's Creative Industries faculty based at Oxford College. As an Apprenticeship Tutor, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences for apprentices.

Your primary responsibility will be to design and deliver innovative lessons to Levels 2 & 3 apprenticeship courses, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes learner success. You will work closely with learners to develop their skills and knowledge, helping them achieve their goals in becoming expert furniture makers, accredited by City and Guilds.

This is a permanent, part-time position working 29.8 FTE based at our City of Oxford College campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach apprenticeship courses to Levels 2 & 3
  • Support learner development through innovative lesson planning and delivery
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure high-quality teaching and learning experiences
Requirements

To be successful as a Furniture Apprenticeship Tutor, you will need:

  • An appropriate professional qualification at level 3/4 or above in a relevant subject area
  • Extensive industry knowledge and experience
  • A passion for furniture design history and enthusiasm for overseeing essay and research writing
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
