Job Title: Senior Traffic Engineer (Development Management and Implementation)

About the Role:

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Highways Engineer/Transport Planner at either Senior or Principal Consultant grade to join our Development Management Implementation (DMI) Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing a team of staff, providing technical work outputs to internal and external stakeholders, and delivering high-quality highway design and development management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice on highway design and development management, including Section 278 and Section 38 Agreement works.
  • Manage and review developers' proposals for highway works, checking specifications for works on adopted highways or roads offered for adoption.
  • Develop and implement project management plans, including work programmes, costings, and budget management.
  • Conduct site inspections during and following construction, including preparation of remedial works and liaison with developers.
  • Review Transport Assessments and other transport and highways-related documents received as part of a planning application.
  • Provide pre-application advice to developers on Transport and Highways matters.
