Job Title: Highway Development Management Engineer

Job Summary:

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Highway Development Management Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Development Management Implementation (DMI) Team, you will be responsible for managing a team of staff and providing technical work outputs to internal and external stakeholders and delivery partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of staff and provide technical work outputs to internal and external stakeholders and delivery partners.
  • Provide professional and technical advice on highway design, including preparation and review of developers' proposals for highway works and checking specifications for works on adopted highways or roads offered for adoption.
  • Review Transport Assessments and other transport and highways related documents received as part of a planning application.
  • Provide pre-application advice to developers on Transport and Highways matters.
  • Carry out site inspections during and following construction period, including preparation of remedial works and liaison with developers.

Requirements:

  • Significant highway design experience, ideally working on behalf of a local authority.
  • Experience in providing professional and technical advice with highways Section 278 and Section 38 Agreement works.
  • Proven project management capabilities and desirable (although not essential) to have staff management experience.
  • Prepared work programmes, costings and budget management/monitoring for highway schemes.
