Job Title: Senior Traffic Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to join our team at Tetra Tech. As a key member of our Development Management Implementation (DMI) Team, you will be responsible for managing a team of staff and providing technical work outputs to internal and external stakeholders and delivery partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of staff and provide technical work outputs to internal and external stakeholders and delivery partners.
  • Provide professional and technical advice on highways Section 278 and Section 38 Agreement works.
  • Review developers' proposals for highway works and check specifications for works on adopted highways or roads offered for adoption.
  • Prepare work programmes, costings, and budget management/monitoring for highway schemes.
  • Review Transport Assessments and other transport and highways related documents received as part of a planning application.
  • Provide pre-application advice to developers on Transport and Highways matters.
Requirements:
  • Significant highway design experience, ideally working on behalf of a local authority.
  • Experience in providing professional and technical advice with highways Section 278 and Section 38 Agreement works.
  • Proven project management capabilities and desirable (although not essential) to have staff management experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Degree or Masters in a relevant subject (e.g., civil engineering, transport planning) and Professional accreditation, such as MICE or CIHT.
