Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Recruitment and Appointments Manager to join our team at the Ministry of Justice. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for developing and delivering improvements within the recruitment and appointments process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team and drive performance through matrix management.
  • Operationalize the recruitment and appointment strategy and business plan objectives for both IMBs and LOs.
  • Develop and deliver the recruitment and appointments process, ensuring relevant security and conflicts checks are conducted for IMBs and LOs.
  • Ensure Board and member compliance processes are met, including elections and quality assurance.
  • Work with others to identify gaps in recruitment and appointment policies and produce materials to fill these.
  • Establish monitoring tools and help others plan their work in line with business objectives.
  • Be a point of escalation for dealing with matters linked to recruitment and re-/appointments, including matters that arise during appointees' ongoing membership.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues, senior leaders, and public appointees, even when dealing with potentially contentious issues.
  • Ensure equality, diversity, and inclusion are considered during the application of all tasks and championed during interaction with the membership.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in recruitment within the Public Sector.
  • Ability to fulfill all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English.

Working Arrangements:

The Ministry of Justice offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites, and/or from home. All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity.

Flexible working hours and annual leave are also available.
