We are currently seeking a dedicated and engaging SEN Teaching Assistant to join our superb learning support department at a warm and welcoming primary academy located in Stoke-on-Trent. This full-time role is ideal for a recent UK based Psychology, Youth Work or Childhood Studies graduate with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored 1:1 & small group SEN support to pupils within a KS1 classroom that have complex learning difficulties. You will be required to work closely with the school's SENCO and other teaching staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a 2:1 UK based degree in Psychology, Youth Work or Childhood Studies, prior experience working with children, and a naturally outgoing and resilient personality. Good organisation and communication skills are also essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 & small group SEN provision to KS1 pupils
- Tailoring sessions around pupils' Educational Health Care Plan
- Working closely with the school's SENCO and teaching staff
