Vision Impairment Specialist Support Worker

We Manage Jobs (WMJobs) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Vision Impairment Specialist Support Worker to join our team. This permanent, part-time position requires 21 hours of work per week.
Job Description:This role involves working with Qualified Teachers of Children with Vision Impairment or Multisensory Impairment, a Habilitation Specialist, and Specialist Practitioners at various locations across Worcestershire.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Support students with vision impairments in educational settings, collaborating with a range of staff including teachers and specialists.
- Advocate for the needs of vision-impaired pupils and deliver support across the county.
- Collaborate with schools-based staff to ensure targeted outcomes are met.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children/young people, particularly those with complex needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- Confidence in advocating for students' needs and willingness to learn Braille (training provided).
Benefits:
- A competitive salary: £13,182 - £15,364 per annum (Scale point 7-17 plus SEN allowance), estimated at around £14,000 per annum based on a 21-hour workweek.
