Job Description:
This full-time role involves working as part of an inclusive team supporting adults with a learning disability. As a Senior Support Worker, you will assist the senior management team in developing support plans, setting goals and objectives, ensuring overall health and safety, and mentoring junior staff members.
You will employ a person-centred approach to help individuals achieve their personal goals. This may involve helping them develop new skills, providing emotional support, planning and managing daily life, or supporting leisure activities. Your work environment could be in the individual's home or within their community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing personalized support plans
- Mentoring and guiding junior staff members
- Contributing to the development of policies and procedures
- Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment
Requirements:
- Prior experience in social care settings is essential; previous senior roles are desirable
- Compassionate, caring, and confident
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A self-starter with high motivation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Keenness to learn and creatively solve problems
