As a Sensory Disability Education Assistant, you will be a vital member of our team at We Manage Jobs (WMJobs), supporting learners with sensory impairments in mainstream settings across Worcestershire.

About the Role:

You will collaborate closely with Qualified Teachers of Children with Vision Impairment or Multisensory Impairment, a Habilitation Specialist, and Specialist Practitioners to deliver tailored support to students.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized support to students with vision impairments, ensuring they receive the necessary accommodations to succeed academically and personally.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers to address individual needs and promote inclusivity.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student engagement, participation, and overall well-being.

Professional Development:

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to refine your skills and knowledge in supporting students with complex needs.
  • Enhance your ability to teach Braille through comprehensive training and resources.
  • Benefit from collaborative relationships with colleagues who share your passion for inclusive education.

Our Offer:

  • A competitive annual salary: approximately £14,000 (based on a 21-hour workweek), ranging from £13,182 to £15,364 per annum (Scale point 7-17 plus SEN allowance).
