Job Description: Wandsworth Co is seeking a skilled Wandsworth Learning Coordinator to support the educational outcomes for looked after children and care leavers aged 3-25 years. The successful candidate will have extensive experience working in a virtual school environment and will be responsible for developing and implementing effective personal education plans that target learning and progress.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of navigating the multi-professional network to overcome barriers to learning and progress, monitoring and tracking pupil progress and recommending interventions to enable pupils and students to achieve and succeed. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with vulnerable children, young people and a range of professionals.

A key aspect of this role is the ability to travel to meetings at schools outside London and lead enrichment opportunities that take place after school and occasionally during school holidays and weekends. The estimated salary for this position is £46,659 per annum (based on title, job description and location). In addition to a competitive salary, we offer 40 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays), flexible working and a generous pension plan.

Key Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status with a degree level qualification 2:2 or above
  • Proven knowledge of education systems in schools, assessment frameworks and how to challenge under-achievement
  • A strong understanding of child development, attachment, trauma and its impact
  • Clear understanding of the barriers children may experience in accessing their learning
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop positive relationships with vulnerable children, young people and a range of professionals
