Special Needs Learning Mentor Role in Wandsworth

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Learning Mentor to support students with special educational needs in Wandsworth. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to provide emotional and academic guidance, enabling children to succeed and thrive.

Job Description:

  • Fully qualified teacher or experienced mentor required to provide 1:1 and small group support for SEN students, focusing on both emotional and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create and implement individualized support plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Help students develop essential life skills, build confidence, and achieve academic success.
  • Monitor student progress, communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment, and a compassionate approach to mentoring.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, adapt to changing situations, and maintain confidentiality when required.
  • DBS check and relevant qualifications necessary.
