As a Children and Young People Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for assessing and managing clinical risk, providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and working collaboratively with other professionals to develop and implement care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage clinical risk, working closely with other professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, and systemic therapy.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, including families, schools, and community services, to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with children, young people, and their families, providing a safe and supportive environment for them to express themselves.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in mental health, applying this knowledge to inform your practice and improve outcomes for children and young people.
- A recognised qualification in a relevant discipline, such as nursing, social work, or allied health professions.
- Professional registration with a recognised national body, such as the HCPC, NMC, or Social Work England.
- Significant post-qualification experience of working within a CYPMHS or child mental health-related field.
- Experience of working with children and young people who present with clinical risk, including those with complex and challenging needs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
