Chester, Cheshire, United Kingdom Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Full time

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our CHEDS team as an Inpatient Link Nurse. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in working with young people with eating disorders and their families, and a commitment to delivering specialist assessments and evidence-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to strengthen the continued link between inpatient staff and the CHEDS team to facilitate seamless care for young people being admitted to Ancora House under the CHEDS inpatient programme. This involves provision of training and support to inpatient staff, meal support, family meals, occasional home visits, and ensuring care plans are in place for the young people.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Mental Health Nurse with a minimum of 1 year's post-registration experience working with children and adolescents, and experience of interagency team working. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of legislation relevant to young people, including the Children Act and Mental Health Act, and be able to demonstrate well-developed negotiation and assertiveness skills to facilitate effective interagency liaison.

What We Offer

As a member of our CHEDS team, you will have the opportunity to work in a well-established multi-disciplinary service with a strong commitment to professional development through individual supervision, training, appraisal, and an ethos of close multi-disciplinary working. You will also have access to ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in working with young people with eating disorders.
