Job Overview
A exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ophthalmic Support Specialist to join our dynamic team at ACES. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our pioneering ophthalmic services.

Key Responsibilities
As an Ophthalmic Support Specialist, your primary duties will include pre-operative testing, conducting tests prior to examination and treatment, and assisting during the consent appointment process. You will also be responsible for coordinating patient flow on the day of the consent appointment and surgery appointments to ensure minimum waiting times for patients and managing queries. Additionally, you will assist the surgeon during consent appointments and treatments, acting as a scrub assistant, taking notes for the surgeon, and instilling eye drops. Your role will also involve undertaking the role of HCA in IOL theatre to assist the surgical team and patients during surgery and associated tasks such as decontamination of instruments. Furthermore, you will actively participate in the end of treatment day activities, updating patient files, filing, compiling 'end of day' reports for head office, cleaning the department, stock and lens ordering. You will also report untoward incidents, taking an active role in patient safety issues and quality and risk management.

Salary and Benefits
We offer an attractive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
