About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Front End Web Developer to join our dynamic web development team at Renishaw. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building highly functional and visually appealing client-side web applications that enhance user experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop responsive web pages in HTML for both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring seamless user experience across various platforms.
  • Convert high-fidelity design mock-ups into responsive HTML/CSS/JS templates, leveraging your expertise in UI/UX design principles.
  • Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring efficient performance and user engagement.
  • Write maintainable and testable client-side web applications, adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Design features specifically for mobile devices, considering factors such as screen size, resolution, and user behavior.
  • Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to enhance usability, ensuring a cohesive and user-friendly experience.
  • Liaise with customer-focused teams to assist with determining requirements, ensuring that our web applications meet the needs of our customers.
  • Document solutions implemented, maintaining a clear and concise record of your work.
  • Plan work in detail within an Agile environment, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely completion.
  • Create high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypes, visualizing your ideas and concepts.
  • Assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting, providing support and expertise as needed.
  • Ensure high-quality graphic standards and brand consistency, maintaining our company's visual identity.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, attending training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in CSS, Javascript, React.js, Next.js, and HTML, with a strong understanding of web development principles and best practices.
  • Experience with cross-browser compatibility maintenance, ensuring seamless user experience across various browsers and devices.
  • Proficiency in debugging, identifying and resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Experience with responsive design (Mobile first), designing features that adapt to different screen sizes and devices.
  • Proficiency in Git, with experience in version control and collaboration.
  • Experience with unit testing, ensuring that your code is robust and reliable.
  • Experience with web performance optimization, ensuring that our web applications are fast and efficient.
  • Experience implementing front ends using a headless CMS, leveraging your expertise in content management systems.
  • Experience integrating back-end APIs into a front-end design, ensuring seamless communication between systems.
  • Experience working with one or more CSS frameworks, such as Bootstrap or Tailwind.
  • Experience working with one or more Javascript frameworks, such as React or Angular.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with DevOps pipelines, ensuring efficient and automated deployment of our web applications.
  • Proficiency in Less or Sass, with experience in pre-processing and styling.
  • Experience with feature flags, enabling or disabling features as needed.
  • Experience with Bootstrap and Tailwind, leveraging your expertise in CSS frameworks.
  • Experience working with Figma or equivalent tools, creating high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypes.
  • Experience with Jira, DevOps (or equivalent) for work planning, ensuring efficient and effective project management.
