About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Front End Web Developer to join our dynamic web development team at Renishaw. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building highly functional and visually appealing client-side web applications that enhance user experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop responsive web pages in HTML for both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring seamless user experience across various platforms.
  • Convert high-fidelity design mock-ups into responsive HTML/CSS/JS templates, leveraging your expertise in UI/UX design principles.
  • Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability, utilizing your knowledge of web performance optimization techniques.
  • Write maintainable and testable client-side web applications, adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Design features specifically for mobile devices, ensuring a seamless user experience across various mobile platforms.
  • Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to enhance usability, leveraging your expertise in cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Liaise with customer-focused teams to assist with determining requirements, ensuring that user needs are met and exceeded.
  • Document solutions implemented, maintaining a high level of transparency and accountability.
  • Plan work in detail within an Agile environment, utilizing your expertise in project management and planning.
  • Create high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypes, leveraging your skills in design and prototyping tools.
  • Assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting, ensuring a smooth and efficient development process.
  • Ensure high-quality graphic standards and brand consistency, adhering to Renishaw's visual identity guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, continuously expanding your skill set and expertise in the field of front-end web development.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in CSS, Javascript, React.js, Next.js, and HTML, with a strong understanding of web development principles and best practices.
  • Experience with cross-browser compatibility maintenance, ensuring seamless user experience across various browsers and platforms.
  • Proficiency in debugging, utilizing your expertise in debugging tools and techniques.
  • Experience with responsive design (Mobile first), ensuring a seamless user experience across various mobile platforms.
  • Proficiency in Git, with a strong understanding of version control and collaboration.
  • Experience with unit testing, ensuring that web applications meet high standards of quality and reliability.
  • Experience with web performance optimization, ensuring that web applications are fast and efficient.
  • Experience implementing front ends using a headless CMS, leveraging your expertise in content management systems.
  • Experience integrating back-end APIs into a front-end design, ensuring seamless communication between front-end and back-end systems.
  • Experience working with one or more CSS frameworks, ensuring a consistent and efficient development process.
  • Experience working with one or more Javascript frameworks, ensuring a seamless and efficient development process.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with DevOps pipelines, ensuring a smooth and efficient development process.
  • Proficiency in Less or Sass, with a strong understanding of CSS pre-processing techniques.
  • Experience with feature flags, ensuring a seamless and efficient development process.
  • Experience with Bootstrap and Tailwind, ensuring a consistent and efficient development process.
  • Experience working with Figma or equivalent tools, ensuring a seamless and efficient design process.
  • Experience with Jira, DevOps (or equivalent) for work planning, ensuring a smooth and efficient development process.
