Job Overview

The Environmental Operations Manager will oversee the environmental activities of MSC Cruises' fleet of cruise vessels, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to all applicable environmental rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

This role entails planning and managing logistics and waste disposal activities, guaranteeing full compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies. The successful candidate will monitor vessels' activities daily to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and company policies, driving operational fleet activities through daily communication with ship commands and onboard officers.

The Environmental Operations Manager will participate in audit inspections, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 certifications as required. They will manage administrative and operational environmental activities with Port Agencies and stakeholders, developing strategies and programs. Additionally, they will coordinate shipside activities, ensuring appropriate documentation related to CLIA, Port Authorities, and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include dealing with environmental services vendors and agencies to ensure ships' environmental compliance, negotiating costs/rebates, and providing support for relevant financial matters. The successful candidate will review and ensure the correct application of procedures, manuals, record books, and all applicable environmental-related documentation.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in environmental management, logistics, and waste disposal. You should be well-versed in environmental regulations and able to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Experience working in a similar role within the shipping or cruise industry would be advantageous.

A competitive salary range is £65,000 - £90,000 per year, depending on experience.
