Main Duties of the Job

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring that any new systems or processes put in place result in an improved patient experience and easier access for patients with more certainty about when they will be assessed and/or treated within the Health Economy. This will necessitate planning and organizing the necessary details to ensure the successful completion of projects within Service Transformation, using the feedback loop to make adjustments to plans and initiatives, researching the information needed for project development, and liaising with stakeholders to develop protocols and decide how to roll out projects.

The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring that service transformation fits in and complements other service improvement initiatives, evaluating and interpreting NHS England initiatives, and communicating these to a wide range of staff, patients, carers, contractors, and external stakeholders. This may include communicating contentious and sensitive information to the audience.

About Us

The NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB) plans and buys healthcare services for our population, working within a budget of around £1 billion set by NHS England. We work closely with local government and NHS providers in our area, with our performance judged by how well our local health and care system as a whole is working, including the health outcomes of our communities. The ICB has delegated some authority to the three health and wellbeing alliances that operate in Suffolk and North East Essex to act on its behalf, ensuring that the needs of smaller, local areas are addressed. Local residents have a big role to play in the operation of the ICB, with their experiences and perspectives helping to shape our decision-making.
