About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our theatre team as a Theatre Porter. As a key member of our operating department, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Escort patients between wards, departments, and theatres, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment by cleaning theatre equipment, operating rooms, and associated areas.
  • Assist in moving and handling equipment used by Theatres and Sterile Services, ensuring efficient and safe transportation.

Person Specification
  • Ability to work towards a Care Certificate or equivalent.
  • No previous experience required, with a willingness to take instruction and learn through on-the-job training.
  • Ability to work in an environment with blood and other body fluids, acting in an appropriate and supportive manner.
  • Professional appearance and behavior, with a flexible approach to working hours and practices.
  • Ability to treat all information confidentially and work within a team, taking instruction and working under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate information verbally and read, write, and record relevant information.
  • Ability to manual handle people and equipment.
