We are seeking a skilled and flexible Porter to join our team at Spire Healthcare Ltd. As a Porter, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to our hospital, working with minimal supervision to cover a range of duties.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect and deliver items to and from other hospitals or facilities in the local area.
- Provide a taxi service to patients and Spire executive staff as needed.
- Collect and return blood units from the Blood Bank, following local working instructions.
- Clean, wash, and refuel the company car.
- Undertake portering duties to agreed standards and procedures, including transportation of patients, goods, and equipment.
- Assist with slide transfers in the imaging department and set up and dismantle tables and chairs for functions.
- Retrieve medical records from external storage and deliver morning papers to patients and departments.
- Order linen and supplies as required and participate in porters' meetings.
- Clear waste from the theatres department and dispose of it in designated areas.
- Collect pre-ordered meals for consultants and staff and maintain theatre lounge supplies.
- Monitor and maintain stocks of fluids and blood fridge, including changing discs and checking alarms.
- A flexible attitude towards duties, which may be varied subject to departmental needs.
- A clean driving license.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle manual handling duties, including moving beds and furniture.
