About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our theatre team as a Theatre Porter. As a key member of our operating department, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards required in our busy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Escort patients between wards, departments, and theatres
  • Clean theatre equipment, operating rooms, and associated areas
  • Move and handle equipment used by Theatres and Sterile Services

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Can work towards a Care Certificate or equivalent
  • Has no previous experience, but is willing to take instruction and learn through on-the-job training
  • Can work in an environment with blood and other body fluids, acting in an appropriate and supportive manner
  • Has a professional appearance and behavior
  • Is flexible and able to work varied hours and practices
  • Can treat all information confidentially
  • Can work within a team and take instruction
  • Can work under pressure
  • Can communicate information verbally
  • Can read, write, and record relevant information
  • Can manually handle people and equipment
Desirable Criteria

We would prefer an individual with:

  • Previous experience working within the NHS
  • Previous experience in a similar environment
