Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Quality Control Laboratory team as a Laboratory Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the laboratory team, including answering phone calls, receiving and logging samples, and processing documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a laboratory setting is desirable, but not essential.

Main Duties
  • Provide administrative support to the laboratory team, including answering phone calls and responding to emails
  • Receive and log samples, and process documentation
  • Assist with physical, chemical, and microbiological testing, and microbiology media preparation
  • Work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Person Specification
  • Relevant NVQ 2 or equivalent level of relevant work experience
  • Previous relevant experience in a laboratory setting
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of customer care awareness and good interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
