Job Description

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering evidence-based treatment. You will be responsible for managing complex cases, formulating care plans, and guiding on effective treatment strategies. Additionally, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

As a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Liaison and collaboration with care coordinators, commissioners, families, and carers
  • Mental Health Act implementation and liaison with relevant authorities
  • Multi-disciplinary working and partnership development
  • Administrative duties associated with patient care, including NHSE contractual obligations and discharge summaries
  • Maintenance of professional registration and adherence to GMC codes of conduct
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full GMC registration with license to practice
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Ability to take full responsibility for clinical care
  • Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved Clinician status
  • Experience in General Adult settings and multi-disciplinary teamwork
  • Experience in risk assessment and management within acute inpatient or community settings
