Job Summary

NexGen Consultancy LTD is seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to drive improvements throughout the business, ensuring goals are met in a timely fashion by efficiently and effectively managing personnel and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer daily operations and on-time delivery, flagging any potential issues to the Managing Director.
  • Create, review, and implement shop floor procedures to optimize production efficiency.
  • Work closely with the management team to plan company activities, including regular planning meetings with the Managing Director and Finance Director.
  • Oversee and analyze tooling equipment costs, including frequency of use, cost of the tooling, and control and maintenance of the Supply-pro and Auto crib system.
  • Drive continuous improvement in labor costs through waste reduction, production efficiency, and operations improvement.
  • Work with the Finance Director on financial budgets and liaise with Unit Supervisors to ensure production budgets and delivery targets are being met.
  • Communicate any delivery/production issues to the Customer and Managing Director, delegating customer communications to the Production Planner as necessary.
  • Schedule all machine maintenance requirements and attend to breakdowns.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and assessment of staff, including disciplinary measures as necessary.
  • Attend meetings, training, and chair and follow up on action points of Production meetings.
  • Travel to subcontractors and third-party suppliers as necessary, in conjunction with the Quality Manager.
  • Be involved in daily Health and Safety requirements and compliance.
  • Deal with any ad-hoc issues that arise at the scheduled daily meeting with the MD.
