Research Scientist in Neurodegenerative Diseases

The Ye lab at Imperial College London invites applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions to investigate the relationship between pathological protein aggregates and neurodegenerative diseases. The successful candidates will lead projects studying the build-up and clearance of protein aggregates associated with Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, and explore strategies for enhancing aggregate removal as a therapeutic approach.
We are seeking highly motivated and organized researchers with a strong background in molecular neuroscience, protein aggregation, or IPSC cultures. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with IPSC-differentiated neuronal cultures, basic biochemistry, and molecular biology. Advanced microscopy skills and quantitative image analysis experience are highly desirable.
As a Research Associate in the Ye lab, you will:
- Conduct independent research projects and contribute to the development of new research ideas.
- Present research findings through written reports, conference presentations, and published manuscripts.
- Collaborate with the Group Leader and other researchers to plan and execute research projects.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the lab and facilities, and provide guidance to staff and students as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of experimental work and undertake scientific and professional training.
This is a fixed-term position for up to two years, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collegial environment with access to cutting-edge technologies and facilities.
