We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Associate to join our team at Imperial College London. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research projects investigating the relationship between protein aggregation and neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Cellular/Molecular Neuroscience with experience in protein aggregation, iPSC cultures, or neuropathology of dementia. They will be expected to work independently, lead projects, and put new knowledge into practice effectively.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and conducting experiments to investigate proteostasis mechanisms and the effect of therapeutic intervention strategies on pathological aggregates
  • Working with iPSC-differentiated neuronal cultures, basic biochemistry, and molecular biology techniques
  • Quantifying the effect of aggregate load on iPSC-differentiated neurons using super-resolution fluorescence imaging and various biochemical techniques
  • Presenting research findings as written reports, at conferences, and as published manuscripts
  • Contributing to the smooth running of the lab and facilities, acting collegiately with other scientists, clinicians, technicians, and students

This is a fixed-term position for up to two years, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment with access to cutting-edge technologies and dedicated facilities.
