Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess the possible impact of any regulatory developments on the operation of the business and work with senior management to ensure that compliance policies are kept up to date and that revisions are disseminated in a timely manner
  2. Review and assist with the sign off of template documents, marketing materials, financial promotions, advertising literature, presentations, and websites to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements reinforcing core compliance values across the business
  3. Provide co-ordination and support for both internal and external audit reviews and regulatory visits
  4. Propose, gain sign off for and deliver the Compliance Monitoring Plan
  5. Assist with the production of management information on current risk and compliance performance highlighting areas of concern for regulatory reporting and Board reporting purposes
  6. Maintain the company Risk Register performing risk assessments to understand the level, significance, and scope of risk
  7. Maintain the Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Plan
  8. Provide regulatory assistance with projects as they arise including the implementation and monitoring of the internal systems and controls after completion of the projects to ensure controls are maintained
  9. Handle complaints and ensure 'root-cause' analysis of complaints is undertaken and any conclusions acted upon
  10. Deliver the compliance training programme including a new starter induction programme ensuring employees are competent and remain competent for the work they do
  11. Conduct regular file reviews to assess performance and identify training needs
  12. Be a point of contact for managers and employees regarding compliance related queries
  13. Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance
  14. Undertake third-party due diligence monitoring and oversight activities

Requirements

We are seeking a highly experienced Compliance Manager who possesses excellent knowledge of the UK regulatory framework and has experience working with FCA or PRA handbooks. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of general retail insurance products and commercial awareness of changing regulatory requirements and trends.


In addition, the successful candidate will be able to develop strong relationships at all levels of the business, adapt content and tone to suit audience, and compile, analyse, and interpret management information and data to facilitate problem-solving, decision-making, and effective change.
