Job Overview

The North Middlesex University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced midwife to join our team as a Preterm Birth Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to make a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to women at risk of preterm birth, ensuring that they receive the best possible outcomes.
  • Lead and manage a team of midwives to deliver excellent patient care and achieve high standards of clinical governance.
  • Develop and implement effective care pathways and protocols to improve patient outcomes and reduce preterm birth rates.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality improvement initiatives to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
  • Develop and deliver education and training programs for midwives and other healthcare professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills in preterm birth care.
  • Participate in research and clinical trials to advance the field of preterm birth care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Ensure that all patients receive timely and effective communication, including information about their care, treatment options, and follow-up appointments.
Requirements
  • Registered midwife with a strong background in preterm birth care.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and skills, with the ability to make sound judgments and decisions in complex situations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care, with a focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate care to all patients.
