Position Overview
***PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY***
An exciting opportunity has emerged for highly skilled and experienced midwives to join the team at the Lilac Birth Centre within Barts Health NHS Trust.
Are you interested in delivering midwifery-led care in a modern, newly refurbished birth centre within a maternity unit recognized for its quality of care?
Do you wish to enhance your expertise through a holistic approach that incorporates hydrotherapy, active birthing techniques, and complementary therapies?
Are you dedicated to providing personalized, patient-centered care?
Would you like to be part of a Birth Centre located in a vibrant area with excellent transport links and local amenities?
We are proud to present a remarkable opportunity for midwives to practice in our Lilac Birth Centre, which features five spacious birthing rooms equipped with mood-enhancing lighting and comfortable active birth resources to support families in their preferred birthing environment.
We collaborate closely with our obstetric team and consultant midwives to create individualized care plans, ensuring that safety and a positive birthing experience are prioritized. Our diverse team of midwives is well-supported and committed to leading care at the Lilac Birth Centre, reflecting the diversity of our community.
Main Responsibilities
We provide maternity services to approximately 4,200 women annually and have recently completed a significant renovation project funded by Barts Charity to enhance Women's and Maternity services, improving the experience for expectant mothers and their families. We are also working with redevelopment teams on plans for a new state-of-the-art maternity unit.
Barts Health NHS Trust is renowned for its innovative approach to maternal care, ensuring that each birth is treated with the utmost importance and that personalized care is delivered to all women and their families.
About Us
The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is embarking on an exciting journey of improvement, aiming to become an outstanding organization with a world-class clinical reputation. Having successfully moved out of special measures, we are now focused on enhancing all our services for patients.
Our vision is to be a high-performing group of NHS hospitals, recognized for excellence and innovation, providing safe and compassionate care to our patients in East London and beyond. This includes a commitment to patient safety and delivering consistently high standards of care.
We are dedicated to our WeCare values and are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every staff member feels a sense of belonging. We celebrate our differences and actively support an inclusive workplace.
The Government has announced that the legal requirement for all NHS workers in England to be double vaccinated is currently under legislative review. However, we encourage those in roles with direct patient contact to be vaccinated against COVID-19 (unless medically exempt) and continue to support vaccination efforts for all staff as this remains the best defense.
