About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Credit Manager to join a global transportation and shipping company based in Central London. This is a rare opportunity to work for an established business that offers a highly competitive package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 4 and report to the General Finance Manager.
  • Oversee and manage the America region, which has a significant amount of overdue freight.
  • Liaise with multiple stakeholders, including senior finance members, to ensure timely freight collection.
  • Follow up on overdue freight and work with internal sales teams and third parties to collect outstanding debts.
  • Identify process issues that hinder timely freight collection and implement solutions.
  • Develop and maintain KPI reports to track performance.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's credit policy by reviewing and approving credit applications.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert in SAP AR implementation and other system/process developments.
  • Lead and develop a team of credit control professionals.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in Credit Control/Freight Management, ideally in a multinational company at General HQ level.
  • Industry experience in liner shipping is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven track record of success.
  • Pro-active attitude and ability to take ownership of tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and customer/results-focused skills.
