Credit Control Manager

Portfolio Credit Control is seeking a highly skilled Credit Control Manager to oversee the Sales Ledger and lead a team of three, including a junior member. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial credit control ledger, downloading and actioning the weekly debtor's report, and interacting with Executive Assistants and support staff to educate them on processes and assist with reviewing debtors regularly.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the commercial credit control ledger, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Download and action the weekly debtor's report, identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
- Lead and manage the credit control team, providing guidance and support to ensure productive and correct output.
- Interact with Executive Assistants and support staff to educate them on processes and assist with reviewing debtors regularly.
- Manage and escalate bad debt provisions where appropriate, ensuring accurate notes of conversations held with clients and consultants.
- Implement and maintain credit policy, utilizing finance packages to ensure accuracy of data.
- Investigate queries and payment issues, providing analysis and KPIs regarding debtors and reporting on invoices paid.
- Work closely and effectively with the Sales Ledger team, escalating queries and client issues to the appropriate person(s) where required.
- Demonstrable experience in credit control management, preferably in a Recruitment/Professional Services background.
- Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft 365 and expert Excel skills.
- Experience managing a small team, with a strong focus on stakeholder management and relationship-building.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, with a collaborative approach and ability to think strategically.
