Credit Control Manager / Sales Ledger
Portfolio Credit Control is seeking a highly skilled Credit Control Manager to oversee the Sales Ledger on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of three, including a junior member, and will work from home two days a week and in the office three days a week, with one anchor day per month for team meetings.
The ideal candidate will have a strong professional personality, excellent communication and writing skills, and the ability to build relationships across the business. They will be responsible for managing the commercial credit control ledger, downloading and actioning the weekly debtor's report, and contacting clients to confirm payment of invoices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the commercial credit control ledger, including approximately 300 clients with a value of £8m across 20+ practices.
- Download and action the weekly debtor's report into Excel.
- Manage the credit control team and all output.
- Contact clients to confirm payment of invoices via telephone and email.
- Interact with EAs/support staff to educate them on processes and assist with reviewing debtors regularly.
- Manage and escalate bad debt provisions where appropriate.
- Keep accurate notes of conversations held with clients/consultants.
- Ensure the implementation of credit policy.
- Utilize finance packages to ensure the accuracy of data.
- Investigate queries/payment issues using various resources.
- Provide analysis and KPIs regarding debtors, report on invoices paid.

Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Demonstrable experience in credit control management.
- Experience working in Recruitment/Professional Services background (preferred but not essential).
- Advanced IT skills, Microsoft 365, and expert Excel skills.
- Experience managing a small team.
