About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Perinatal Mental Health team, providing specialist psychological services to women and their families during the perinatal period.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide community and inpatient-based specialist clinical psychology services for women experiencing mental health difficulties during pregnancy, the first two years postnatal, or following loss.
  • Conduct psychological assessments, formulations, and treatments based on complex data from various sources.
  • Support the development of psychological and trauma-informed services around maternal mental health and perinatal loss, including gap analysis in treatment provision and audit and evaluation of referral pathways and treatment outcomes.
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Eligible for registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the job
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Skills developed through formal training in supervision of other psychologists
  • Assessment and therapeutic skills relevant to complex and severe mental health presentations
  • Specialist knowledge of current legislation and guidance for clinical practice and professional management in relation to perinatal/maternal mental health
  • Experience of working with attachment trauma, birth trauma, and loss
  • Trained in EMDR, CFT, trauma-focused CBT
  • Experience of working in perinatal services and inpatient settings
