Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our adult mental health services, you will be responsible for providing specialist psychological assessments, interventions, and consultations to individuals, families, and groups.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify service users' needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions, including individual and group therapy, to address complex mental health issues.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective service delivery.
  • Consult and advise colleagues on psychological aspects of patient care, particularly in areas of specialist knowledge.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring a psychologically informed framework of understanding and care.
Requirements
  • Good Honours degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) and eligibility for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, as accredited by the British Psychological Society.
  • Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist by the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Eligible for Chartered status with the British Psychological Society.
  • Post-qualification training in supervision of other psychologists and specialist training/experience in assessment and intervention for complex mental health problems.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-qualification training in a therapy model and Chartered status with the British Psychological Society.
  • Expertise and interest in specialist areas relevant to adult mental health.
Key Skills and Abilities
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills, enabling written and oral presentation and receipt of complex and sensitive information.
  • Ability to process text, set up, and use databases and spreadsheets.
Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will be based in Derby City CMHT, working as part of a dynamic team of over 260 staff in our Directorate of Psychology and Psychological Therapies. We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment, with opportunities for professional development and growth.
