About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Perinatal Mental Health Team at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist clinical psychology services to women and their families experiencing mental health difficulties during pregnancy, the postnatal period, or following loss.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment to individuals and families experiencing complex and severe mental health problems.
  • Develop and implement systemic approaches to working with partners and the wider family, and signpost to other services as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of psychologically informed trauma-focused care within the team and maternity services.
  • Support the audit and evaluation of referral pathways and treatment outcomes to ensure equality of service provision.
About the Team

The Perinatal Mental Health Team is a multidisciplinary team that provides specialist services to women and their families experiencing mental health difficulties during pregnancy, the postnatal period, or following loss. The team is committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based care that is tailored to the individual needs of each patient.

Requirements
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Eligible for registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role
  • Skills developed through formal training in supervision of other psychologists
  • Assessment and therapeutic skills relevant to complex and severe mental health presentations
  • Demonstrated specialist knowledge of current legislation and guidance for clinical practice and professional management in relation to perinatal/maternal mental health
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Assessment and therapeutic skills related to perinatal/maternal mental health
  • Experience of working with attachment trauma, birth trauma, and loss
  • Trained in EMDR, CFT, trauma-focused CBT
  • Experience of working in perinatal services
  • Experience of working within inpatient settings
  • Displays an interest in working within perinatal services
  • Able to demonstrate compassion and empathy
