Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Paediatric Psychology team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention, and evaluation to children and families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention, and evaluation to children and families
  • Teach, train, consult, and supervise as required
  • Build strong working relationships with AHP, medical, and nursing colleagues within the service and wider partner agencies
  • Offer placements to Psychologists in training
  • Link in with regional and national groups for psychologists in paediatrics and diabetes care
About the Team

Our Paediatric Psychology team is a dynamic and supportive environment that values ongoing individual and team development. We have specialist input into neonatal, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, and children's continuing care, as well as wider input into general paediatrics. We have good links with local DClinPsy courses and regularly have Trainee Clinical Psychologists on placement.

Person Specification
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Registered with HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Experience of complex psychological assessment, formulation, intervention, and evaluation
  • Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts
