Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust. As a key member of our adult mental health services, you will be responsible for providing specialist psychological assessments, consultations, and supervision to colleagues and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Specialist Psychological Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments of service users, utilizing complex data from various sources, including psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, and structured observations.
  2. Consultation and Supervision: Provide expert advice and supervision to colleagues from other disciplines on the psychological formulation and management of patients with mental health problems.
  3. Care Planning and Risk Management: Assess, monitor, and manage clinical risk to minimize harm to patients, others, and oneself, and provide advice on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.
  4. Interagency Collaboration: Develop and maintain links with social services, general practitioners, and other primary healthcare workers to ensure seamless care coordination.
Person SpecificationTraining and Qualifications
  • Good Honours degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) with eligibility for Graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society.
  • Post-qualification training in supervision of other psychologists.
  • Post-qualification specialist training/experience in assessment and intervention for complex mental health problems.
  • Post-qualification training in a therapy model.
  • Commitment to developing specialist expertise in adult mental health through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Expertise and interest in a specialist area relevant to adult mental health.
  • Ability to process text, set up, and use databases and spreadsheets.
