About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Scientific Copy Editor to join our team at Elsevier Limited Company. As a Senior Assistant Editor, you will provide high-quality scientific copyediting of cutting-edge research papers. Your comprehensive in-house training will ensure studies are accurately reported and accessible to a global audience.

Responsibilities

  • Editing research articles and opinion pieces for various scientific and medical disciplines
  • Ensuring accurate reporting of research according to our guidelines and quality control measures
  • Liaising with editors, authors, and production teams to perfect papers for publication
  • Collaborating with colleagues to improve internal policies and processes
  • Mentoring new Assistant Editors to develop their skills and knowledge in research publishing

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or equivalent experience/knowledge
  • Editorial experience at a scientific, technology, or medical journal
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, and clarity in written English
  • Ability to work in a team to meet weekly deadlines
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Good IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word
