Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated SEN teacher to join our team at Teaching Personnel. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and emotional or behavioural difficulties.

About the Job

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an inspiring curriculum that enables all pupils to make good progress;
  • Set clear targets for pupils' learning, building on prior attainment;
  • Enable all pupils to understand key concepts, effectively checking understanding and correcting misunderstandings;
  • Assess pupil work and progress, giving regular feedback;
  • Maintain a stimulating, engaging, and safe learning environment that allows pupils to focus on learning;
  • Positively manage behaviour in line with the school policy;
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including whole-school routines, paperwork, and duties;
  • Take responsibility for your own professional development and engage with performance management activities.

Working with SEMH Students

  • The role involves delivering lessons as a teacher, teaching assistant, or learning mentor;
  • Work with students who have special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or emotional or behavioural difficulties;
  • Develop skills in counselling, therapy, or social work, particularly with children and adolescents;
  • Manage challenging behaviour, drawing from experience in PRUs, alternative provision, or mainstream schools.

Requirements

  • Degree in Education or related field;
  • PQTE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or equivalent qualification;
  • Experience working with SEMH students;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Salary and Benefits
