At West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, we are seeking a skilled Haematology Training Lead to join our team. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with Band 7 BMS Team Leaders and Managers across Blood Sciences, as well as liaising with the Blood Sciences Manager and Medical, Nursing, and Phlebotomy staff within the department.

The successful candidate will report to the Consultant Heads of Haematology & Blood Transfusion for clinical aspects of their role and take the lead in developing competency assessments for all staff grades to meet ISO 15189:2012/2022 accreditation standards. We are looking for someone with a demonstrated aptitude for supporting staff development, along with a solid understanding of the requirements for HCPC Registration, IBMS Registration, and Specialist Portfolios.

This role involves providing a full 24/7 acute/urgent service at Watford General Hospital and a non-urgent, Monday-to-Friday service at the Hemel Hempstead site. While primarily focused on training (approximately 60% of the role), the successful candidate will also serve as a Band 7 Team Lead when needed.
