We are seeking an experienced and organized Medical Office Coordinator to join our team at Wellside Surgery.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our medical team, ensuring the smooth operation of our office, and maintaining accurate records. Key responsibilities include:

  • Welcome patients at the reception desk, assist with their inquiries, or direct them accordingly.
  • Answer telephones, respond to calls, and record messages according to practice protocol.
  • Book appointments via phone or in-person.
  • Process patient deductions, prepare paper notes for return to PCSE, and handle requests for note retrieval from offsite storage.
  • Process repeat prescription requests received online or via email.
  • Perform various general administration duties as required to meet targets.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Previous reception experience.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Reliability and dependability.
  • A team player with discretion and flexibility.
  • A good record of attendance.
Qualifications and Experience

You will need a good standard of general education and previous experience in a similar role. A customer service qualification is desirable.

Estimated Salary Range

£25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
