About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Secretary to join our Clinical Administration Secretarial Team within Cardiology at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our clinicians, including transcribing clinical correspondence, adding patients to the waiting list, and inputting data into relevant patient systems.

As a Medical Secretary, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth delivery of care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe clinical correspondence and add patients to the waiting list
  • Input data into relevant patient systems
  • Provide administrative support to clinicians
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage diaries and minute-taking
  • Referral to Treatment (RTT)

Requirements

  • Keyboard skills to RSA Level 2/3 or equivalent
  • English and Maths (grade 4-9)
  • European Computer Driving License (ECDL) or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Previous experience of using Microsoft Office Applications
  • Knowledge of secretarial or administrative procedures and systems
  • Previous experience of working in an office environment
  • Previous experience of audio-typing
