About the Role

The American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Business Planning Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Business Planning and Strategy team, you will play a critical role in defining and executing our annual and quarterly plans, ensuring alignment with our company's overall strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Business Planning in defining our annual plan, including working with leadership to define annual objectives and key results, leading strategic qualitative and quantitative analysis, and partnering with teams across the organization to define and prioritize plans to achieve our goals.
  • Deliver and refine our business planning governance, including owning our annual planning calendar and logistics, working with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective management of dependencies across teams, and finding opportunities to increase effectiveness in our processes.
  • Create awareness amongst our teams about our business priorities and performance, working with the Head of Business Planning to deliver and refine our leadership performance management rhythm, and partnering with internal comms to define and deliver our communication strategy.
  • Support us in tracking performance versus plans across financial, operational, and strategic metrics.

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of strategy, performance management, and financial principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, draw actionable insights, and mobilize this into action.
  • Ability to independently frame, scope, and implement strategic analysis, and own recommendations to leadership.
  • Detail and solution-oriented with a strategic approach and ability to balance short-term priorities and long-term goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience effectively delivering complex projects or operational rhythms with multiple workstreams and dependencies.
  • Effective communicator, an expert storyteller with experience delivering leadership materials and facilitating leadership sessions. Able to influence and motivate stakeholders across the organization, at varying levels of seniority.
  • Self-motivated, agile, and collaborative.
