About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Business Planning Lead to join our team at American Express Global Business Travel. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving our business forward through strategic planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Annual Planning and Governance
    • Support the Head of Business Planning in defining our annual plan, including working with leadership to define annual objectives and key results, and leading strategic qualitative and quantitative analysis to support business planning.
    • Partner with teams across American Express Global Business Travel to define and prioritize plans to achieve our goals.
    • Partner with finance to ensure our business plans and financial forecasts align.
  • Business Planning Governance
    • Deliver and refine our business planning governance, including owning our annual planning calendar and logistics.
    • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure we effectively manage dependencies across teams.
    • Find opportunities to increase effectiveness in our processes.
  • Performance Management and Communication
    • Create awareness amongst our teams about our business priorities, and our performance against them.
    • Work with the Head of Business Planning to deliver and refine our leadership performance management rhythm.
    • Partner with internal comms to define and deliver our communication strategy, including through engaging company-wide updates.
  • Performance Tracking and Analysis
    • Support us to track performance versus plans across financial, operational, and strategic metrics.
Requirements
  • Strategic Planning and Analysis
    • Excellent understanding of strategy, performance management, and financial principles.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
    • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, draw actionable insights, and mobilize this into action.
  • Leadership and Communication
    • Ability to independently frame, scope, and implement strategic analysis; and own recommendations to leadership.
    • Detail and solution-oriented with a strategic approach and ability to balance short-term priorities and long-term goals in a fast-paced environment.
    • Effective communicator, an expert storyteller with experience delivering leadership materials and facilitating leadership sessions.
    • Able to influence and motivate stakeholders across the organization, at varying levels of seniority.

    • Self-motivated, agile, and collaborative.
