About the Role

This is a key leadership position within the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, responsible for coordinating the trust's service line planning, strategic planning, and annual planning processes. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of the trust's strategic direction and support the Royal Free's relationship with North Central London Integrated Care System and NHS England.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the Annual Planning Process: Develop and implement the trust's annual plan, ensuring alignment with North Central London Integrated Care System and NHS England guidance.
  • Support Financial Improvement Planning: Collaborate with the Finance team to develop and implement financial improvement plans.
  • Support Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of the trust's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the trust's overall objectives.
About the Team

The Planning team is part of the Transformation & Improvement Directorate, which covers a range of change teams from strategy and planning to transformation and improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to develop and implement plans that support the trust's strategic objectives.

Requirements
  • Education and Professional Qualifications: Educated to postgraduate degree level (or equivalent experience) with evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience: Experience of working with external advisers and managing a planning process.
  • Skills and Aptitudes: Demonstrably numerate, including a working appreciation of statistics, and able to interpret financial information. Top-quality written work and ability to establish effective relationships with senior doctors, academics, accountants, workforce, and information specialists.
  • Personal Qualities and Attributes: Ability to work under pressure to meet executives' demands, work flexibly in a dynamic environment, and possess a diplomatic style.
