Aramark UK is seeking an experienced and dedicated Hotel Manager to join the team at Northwood HQ, Hertfordshire. This is a permanent and full-time opportunity.

You'll have a chance to make a significant impact in the military culture at this site where we have one kitchen with two dining spaces. Do you have an excellent track record as either a Hotel Manager or a Restaurant Manager? If so, we would love to hear from you.

The role reports into our General Manager on site and you will assume responsibility for food and cleaning services on site. The hours for this role are predominantly Monday- Friday (6am - 2:30pm OR 11:30am - 8pm).

A day in the life of a Hotel Manager:
  • Lead employee training and development programmes to ensure all staff are fully trained, including on the computerised point of sale system
  • Collaborate daily with the Catering Manager, Head Chef, and other Aramark managers, attending weekly senior management and monthly client and committee meetings
  • Oversee mess accounts and treasury functions, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Take full ownership of operational management and financial performance of the unit
  • Champion exceptional customer service and utilise marketing tools to drive sales
  • Ensure RRP compliance and follow client tariffs for non-RRP items
  • Build strong commercial relationships with suppliers to maximise service quality and financial returns
  • Ensure timely completion of all paperwork, inventories, and reports
  • Stay informed on personnel policies, labour laws and agreements
  • Act as the purchasing officer and budget controller, managing projections for P&L accounts
  • Report any equipment issues that pose a safety risk to the health and safety helpline
  • Support the regional team with management responsibilities as needed
You'll be set up for success if you have:
  • Level 3 or 4 NVQ in Food & Beverage or Leadership is desirable, not essential
  • Ideally 3 years' experience in a similar role (Hotel Manager, Restaurant Manager)
  • Understanding of catering finances (costing, production, yields, wastage, employee schedules and payroll budgeting)
  • Ability to accurately forecast P&L projections and plan accordingly
  • Ability and full confidence in producing reports across all areas of the business
  • Ability to take ownership and accountability
  • Excellent communication skills, showing cooperation and support for others
  • Customer focused
  • Ability to manage multiple teams
  • Build and maintain customer and supplier relations
